The active principle in Synosal is
Acidum benzoicum e resina: benzoic acid, which
is obtained by distillation from the resin of styrax species. The chemically
close relationship to salicylic acid also explains the similarities
in the drug picture.

Drug Picture - Cardinal Symptoms
Urine dark with a pungent smell ("like horse urine"), basic,
contains proteins; skin itches, exhibits red spots and erythemas.
Rheumatoid symptoms in very different joints and muscles, particularly
in the small joints and knees; polyarthritis, infectious joint inflammations,
disorders of the synovial mucous membranes
