Homeopathy
for animals
In the veterinary medicine the current trend is increasingly directed
towards naturopathic, holistic methods of treatment. It has always been
the aim of naturopathy to eliminate etiology, the cause of disease,
which triggers a variety of symptoms, as well as to activate the bodily
functions to perform self healing and to stabilize the self defences
of the body.
Homeopathy has taken the greatest and most important position within
the range of naturopathic methods of treatment. This is a therapy using
medicaments, which have been tried and tested on healthy organisms and
are prescribed in a potentized form in accordance with the simillimum
principle ("Law of Similars").
The physician Samuel Hahnemann took up this principle from the medical
perceptions that had been in existence from the times of Hippocrates
and Paracelsus, which he methodically worked upon and processed for
practical application. All vital knowledge concerning homeopathy is
contained and summarized in his book "Organon of Medicine"
- which was published in 1810. ¹)
On principle, homeopathy always has prospects of success, if there
is a possibility for the activation and regulation of the bodily reactions.
Therefore homeopathy is comprehensively and universally applicable.
Homeopathy is increasingly employed in the treatment of domestic animals
kept for the production of foodstuffs for one further significant reason:
requirements pertaining to foodstuffs, which may not contain residual
chemical substances such as medicinal products, are stipulated in consumer
protection directives. The EU-Directive 2091/92 therefore stipulates
that the animals which are kept in ecologically friendly establishments
should be treated preferentially with homeopathic and phytotherapeutic
remedies. Furthermore, our homeopathic products are free from preservatives,
meaning that they correspond to the EU directives in their full entirety.
The important economic aspects of homeopathic treatment with relation
to animal husbandry are obvious: no extended waiting periods (for meat
and milk), no problems with residuals - and at the same time relatively
low expenditure for medicines, high tolerance and a high rate of treatment
success. No resistant pathogens can be formed in the course of the homeopathic
treatment. And now some information to do with the theme of environment:
neither the production of homeopathic products nor the excretion thereof
has a detrimental influence on the environment.
The appropriate diagnosis is more difficult to achieve for an animal
than for a human, as an animal is not able to communicate by means of
language. However the simple and complex medicines comprising the WERAVET-
und REGUL-ranges, which were developed in the course of decades of practice
and expertise, can be employed in the treatment of entire complexes
of symptoms. These so-called "tried and tested indications "
have been determined in the form of reactive focuses und as a result
of therapeutic experience from specific parts of the medicine picture.
The right remedy for the treatment can be determined rapidly using this
method. For this reason WERAVET und REGUL are well suited as the introduction
to homeopathy. But experienced therapists also cherish this practical,
reliable product range.
The most important areas of application in the animal husbandry sector
as well as the small animal sector are covered by WERAVET and REGUL.
The treatment with the product ranges is likewise indicated for all
age groups in animals (also for pups and other young animals), for the
treatment of both acute and chronic diseases (chronic courses of disease,
in particular, defy the "classical" methods of treatment).
Creativity and intuition - and above all practice and experience will
open new opportunities of treatment to the therapist.
